“Give Up” by Bilk – A Song Review

There is nothing pretentious about “Give Up” by Bilk. The Essex-based trio makes no attempt to mask their accents. And the energy has a hard-charging quality that is characteristic of the age of the band members. They are three 18-year-old musicians with reasons to be optimistic.

Bilk is Sol Abrahams (vocals, guitar), Luke Hare (bass), and James Holland (drums). In describing “Give Up,” Abrahams said, “The idea of not giving up your aim when you've got your surroundings and other things going on in life distracting you. Hence the 'trying not to flop my college course and then get employed" bit.

The band’s debut single, “Give Up” was produced by Rich Turvey (Blossoms, The Coral) at Parr Street Studios, Liverpool.
